Art in Public Places Education Program

The Rockland County Art in Public Places Committee offers a public art workshop for children and adults.

Public art plays a distinguishing role in Rockland County’s history and identity. It reflects and enhances meaning in our civic spaces, and adds uniqueness to our communities. Public art humanizes the built environment while our communities gain cultural, social, and economic value through our public art.

The goal of the workshop is to acquaint the community with examples of public art established by Rockland County Art in Public Places and to introduce students to the elements and principles of public art design. The students will think in three dimensions as they create public art (sculpture models) for their community.

We hope this public art workshop will be a welcomed addition to local programming.
